how does she do it?

It's kinda late in the game for me to bring this up but.....HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH! Even though the month is halfway over, I think it'd be cool to profile some of my favorite women of color in my blog.

First up: Tracee Ellis Ross. Although she's the daughter of the famous Diana Ross, Tracee has made her own call to fame starring in the hit black sitcom Girlfriends, and being a Style-ista in the celeb world.

Not only do I love Girlfriends, and Tracee's style, (both on the show and off) but I have always loved and will always love her AMAZING HAIR!!!!! There's just so much of it, and she wears it in so many different ways. no matter what she does with it, it always looks good. i always wonder how she gets it that way. I think its safe to say that I am more envious of Tracee's hair than any other celeb or icon out there

I've got soul but I'm not a soldier

Looks like I'm not going to be able to post as much as I would initially have liked to, but as long as I post something, it's all good.

So I did a weeee bit of shopping over the weekend, and came out with a few spectacular pieces

This awesome cardigan I found at Penny's

And sleek new pants that fit like a glove I also found at Penny's
The sandals, which i love I got a while ago from target

And although I made it one of my New Year's resolutions to stop buying cheap rings, I looked at the jewelry collection at a local Goodwill, and just could not resist

At first I thought these symbols were hieroglyphics, I later realized they were astrology signs

The adorable little green ring, and trippy misty one I also found at Goodwill

And in case you didn't notice, I finally decided to do something different with my nails
It was supposed to look like a spider web but i failed and just went with this cool looking line design, I think it turned out pretty nice!

Its been a while

Time for an update. So here what I've been wearin lately:

Today's outfit
Jacket from Target, jeans from Penny's
Shirt from Kohl'shad to get a close up on this beautiful necklace, from my grandmother of course

Now these are from a few days ago

And later that night I had a job interview...

Got the job by the way!

So enough about my clothes, here's some cool rings I stumbled upon

How clever is that??? I think they're hilariously adorable. These little numbers were spawned from a line called Artifacts by Casey. Not much to see on the website, but the few pieces that are featured are pretty unique (and pricey)

Today's post brought to you by the following music:
Tokio Hotel's new CD Humanoid played an repeat :)

Stuff I want right now

1. I saw this awesome elephant ring at Urban Outfitters a few months ago, and seriously debated getting it. But it was $34 at the time, so I decided to hold off for a while. Then yesterday I happened to visit the sale section of the UO webiste and saw that it went down to the amazing price of 10 frickin dollars! Un-believable. So I ordered it today, and it should be arriving in the mail in 5- 7 days :)

2. This has absolutely nothing to do with style or fashion, but I'm going to include it anyway. I read Da Vinci Code a little while ago, and loved it!!! I haven't devoured a book like that in a while. Then I started Angels ad Demons which I can't wait to finish up (hopefully within the next few days), and now I've decided to go on a Dan Brown binge. I ordered his new book today (would've spent an extra five bucks if I bought it at the bookstore) and it should be arriving in the mail within the next 5-10 days :)

3. Hippie headbands. Now, I'm not the type of person to base my wardrobe /accessories on the latest trends, or what I see celebrities wearing, but this a trend that's become pretty popular that I really dig because it totally suits me. I've recently inherited some scarves form my grandmother, and a few of them could actually be pulled off as hippie headbands, but now I think I want some more.

4. Doc Martens
I doubt I'll be investing in a pair any time soon, but I first realized the popularity of doc Martens when I started getting into Teen Vogue and Nylon back in my early high school years, and I started to really like them.

If I were to get a pair though, I'm kinda leaning toward these burgundy colored ones......

Nails Nails Nails

So, as you may or may not know, I love nail polish, hence I love painting my nails. But all I've ever done is paint my nails solid colors.

But there's so many different, creative things one can do with nail polish, so I'd like to think outside of the box and start mixing things up more.

This is some of my friend Johnalyn's fancy artwork

We had a lot of time on our hands, so she did my friend Priya’s nails too

And just for kicks, here's a few pics of some cool nail artwork I found online

I'd like to give that spider web design a try

I would never get nails that long, but I think design is nice

I think this one is hilarious, yet highly creative and you better believe I will be trying this one out
